Excel Risk Check started as an internal tool to solve a problem we faced ourselves: validating spreadsheets before they went into production. We found that existing tools were either expensive, complicated, or locked behind enterprise sales processes.

We decided to make the core analysis completely free because basic spreadsheet risk assessment shouldn't require a procurement process or a budget line item. Every finance team, every risk analyst, every data professional should be able to check their work before it causes problems.

What the PDF Adds

The PDF report is for when you need formal documentation — sharing results with stakeholders, attaching to audit files, or presenting findings to leadership. It is free, like everything else here, and there is no limit on how many you generate.

So How Is This Paid For?

The web tool is free and stays free. What we charge for is automation: if you want the same analysis running inside your own systems — a nightly check over a folder of models, a validation step in a data pipeline, a pre-flight check before a report goes out — that is the API, and it is a paid plan.

It is the same engine and the same findings you get here. You are paying for it to run without a person uploading a file.
